Applied Microbiology International collaborates with a variety of organisations to help further diversity and inclusion within STEM.

AMI is a supporting member of the following organisations:

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health – AMI is a member of EDIS; a coalition of organisations working within the science and health research sector committed to improving EDI. Hosted by the Wellcome Trust, EDIS’s vision is for everyone to have equal opportunities and access to a successful career within science and health, its research and its outcomes.
The British Science Association – AMI is a sponsor of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity & Inclusion in STEM, for whom the BSA is the secretariat. The APPG aims to promote the inclusion and progression of people from diverse backgrounds in STEM, and to encourage government, parliamentarians, academics, businesses and other stakeholders to work towards a STEM sector that is representative of the population.

The Daphne Jackson Trust – AMI has worked in partnership with the DJ Trust through sponsoring a 3-year Daphne Jackson fellowship. The DJ Trust is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to realising the potential of scientists and engineers returning to work after a career break.
Royal Society of Biology D&I Working Group – AMI is a member of the RSB’s Member Organisations’ Diversity and Inclusion Working Group (DIWG), which convenes regularly to share best practice and co-ordinate activities and events.

AMI also closely follows and has undertaken training offered by D&I Leaders, who provide high-quality news, events, training and content which helps D&I and HR related professionals deliver positive change within their organisations.
