WH Pierce 2008: Paul Cotter
Dr Paul Cotter is a Funded Investigator at the APC Microbiome Institute, University College Cork, Ireland.
Paul is a molecular microbiologist, with research in his lab focusing particularly on the microbiology of food, the food chain and of the human/animal gut (and its role in health and disease in humans and animals) as well as antimicrobial peptides/bacteriocins.
Paul received the prize for his research into the use of bacteriocins and Lantibiotics as potential antimicrobials.
